Jeff Andrews
Partner, Atlas Venture
Jeff Andrews joined Atlas Venture in 2001 and is a Partner in the
technology group. He invests in hardware and software companies serving
markets including power & energy, digital media and mobile
electronics.
Previously, Jeff made venture capital investments for Intel Capital
where he invested in early-stage networking companies. Before Intel,
Jeff spent 10 years in operating roles first at Lockheed Martin
developing fiber optic systems and later at Becton Dickinson BioSciences
commercializing automated medical systems.
Jeff holds six patents, four in fiber optics and two in medical systems.
He was twice named Inventor of the Year at Lockheed Martin Aero and
Naval Systems, and has authored numerous publications in technical
journals.
Jeff currently serves on the boards of Gotuit Media, MiaSole,
Lilliputian Systems, Starbak Communications and Pixtronix. He was
formerly on the Board of Atlas Venture portfolio company Optovia which
was acquired by JDS Uniphase (NASD: JSDU) in 2006 and eDial which was
acquired by Alcatel (NYSE: ALA) in 2004.
Jeff has a BS in Physics from Binghamton University, an MS in Electrical
Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
