With more than twelve years of Washington policymaking experience, Lauren has advised CEOs and senior executives of leading biotech, clean tech and high tech companies, industry organizations, and investors, as well as U.S. and international government leaders including U.S. Cabinet Secretaries and members of Congress by providing them with strategic guidance and key insights on legislative, legal, and regulatory actions that impact their interests.
Lauren has extensive experience in policy development and representation before Congress and U.S. and foreign governments, successfully delivering reforms on behalf of her clients. Lauren also specializes in innovative advocacy methods to deliver policy reforms including the development and implementation of industry coalitions.
Prior to joining Buchanan, Lauren served as the first policy director for the emerging companies section at the Biotechnology Industry Organization, where she created and advocated for the policy interests of emerging biotech companies. Lauren also created and managed the only multi-industry coalition effort to reform the Sarbanes-Oxley law. Prior to her work in the biotech field, Lauren served as the e-commerce, trade and IP policy expert for a leading high tech industry organization.
Lauren is a veteran of numerous Democratic presidential campaigns, specializing in the creation of new campaign initiatives and policy platforms. Lauren also served as a senior advisor to the Undersecretary of Treasury for Domestic Finance and as a Judiciary Committee counsel to Senator Dianne Feinstein of California. Prior to her work in Washington, D.C., Lauren worked as a financial analyst and a marketing analyst for JP Morgan/Chase and Merrill Lynch in New York City.
